Stephen Brasel - Google Profile

Stephen Brasel - Google Profile

Alright, I'm fed up with this not keeping up with the small things. This is going to be a rant. Prepare yourself.

Why isn't there a waveto: link yet? Google's new fancy thing is awesome, I love it. I mean, I LOVE it. It's awesome and you can bloody do anything with it, chat, email, touch up a document, write code, write a book, play freakin' MMO's on it. People have done everything except INTEGRATE it. Google's own Chrome, even in the late beta stages it's at, hasn't figured out that we now wave. Every time I hover over an email link, I'm informed that it's a mailto: address that I can interact with to communicate with someone, but I can't use a wearyroad@googlewave.com link to wave to someone? What's up with that? It's even gotten opened up to developers, other companies have implpemented their own form of waving systems, but nobody's yet told the people that run your browser.
Another thing I'm pissed off about is that Google likes to keep it's new toys a secret from the average user. If anything, they're the people you need to get it out to first. ON THAT NOTE,

take a risk, people. Beta means you get to be part of implementing the changes you'll know and love by the time every sissy out there has just gotten a "Newfangled gosh-darned device."

But seriously, Google Wave AND Google Voice both STILL don't have an app button. Google Wave still doesn't even have the little bar they go in. (that little bar in the top left of every single Google Screen Webpage, the one with all the News, Images, Gmail and Videos links in it? Yeah. No Wave. No Voice.) Google doesn't like advertising it's now OPEN TO NEWCOMERS toys. It's very strange.

If you follow me on Google Reader, or, heck, have ever talked to me at all, there are two things that you probably know:

One, I'm a Google Fanatic. OK?!? They do more things for the online community than some linux support groups. (I'm talking to you, Ubuntu.) Despite all of my griping and complaining, those guys innovations' leave me floored.

Two, I fell in love. Something Positive is the best webcomic ever. Ever, I say. He's like 4chan's version of Bill Waterson. Go ChooChoorBear!! :)

One last thing before I close off: I'm sorry for being so sporadic. I'll try to post more often, if I remember. It will have to wait after next week, though; I'm going on the Bike Ride Across Georgia. Wish me luck and give me painkillers. I'll have something worth looking at on this blog soon, I promise. Just look forward to a lot of changes from this neophiliac. See you next time.

9000 PCs in Swiss schools going Linux only | ZDNet

Another fine win for linux users. I dual-boot a Mac, still, but that's just cause I like to see if it'll ever amount to anything. It hasn't. Linux Rocks. :)
